This annual event takes place every 4th of July in downtown Prescott, AZ. The event consists of two different competitions. The Hose Cart Races and Bucket Brigades.

In the Hose Cart Race, competitors wheel historic hose carts from the start line to a water source. Once there, contestants hook up to a hydrant and supply a nozzle, then take aim at the opposing team’s cone. The first team to knock over the cone with their fire stream wins that event.

The Bucket Brigade simulates fire suppression in the days before fire apparatus. Competitors move water from a static source to a 55 gallon drum. The first team to fill the drum wins the event.
